Detecting Problems
Air pollution in your home can be easy to find when you use common sense.Look for cracks in walls, sweating windows, pooled water, peeling paint and mold. You may need to regulate humidity levels in your home. If you smell mildew, you may have too much humidity. If you have a scratchy throat or sneeze often, you may have a dust, pollen, or mold problem. If you can still smell your cooking after four hours, your house is not adequately ventilated. Too much moisture in the air can promote the growth of mold and mildew. A properly sized air conditioner system can cool your home and reduce the humidity in your air. In homes without an air conditioning system, a dehumidifier may help. |
